Inspired by the original medieval city, Paradise Street responds to the monumental scale of post-war Coventry to create a modern student village serving a millennial clientele. 893 technology-rich new homes are set around a 2,000sqm piazza, where the intimacy of a walled city meets the opportunities of our networked society. Designed by Fraser Brown MacKenna and Project Managed by K2 Consultancy for Axo Student Living, the final phase of the new development was completed by Galliford Try in September 2019.
A modern, best-in-class student environment
The intimacy of a medieval walled city meets the opportunities offered by the global village at Paradise Street. Homes are arranged in a ‘wall’ and three towers which address the busy ring-road, with a gatehouse opening into a 2,000sqm piazza. But there is a human scale to these monumental forms, with a variety of types and sizes of accommodation and a thoughtful approach to the detailing of the journey into each home using natural light, surface textures and colours to create intimacy and individuality. Paradise Street offers:
