We were commissioned to create a new student hostel for a private client on a site bounding the Olympic Park in Stratford. The scheme, on Windmill Lane, provides 187 student rooms and retail uses at ground floor level.
The Stratford Area Masterplan identifies the area as having a need for more student hostels and having the capacity, both in terms of infrastructure and townscape assets, to accommodate a taller building on the site. Our client is committed to creating a high-quality building on the site and we have sought to utilise this opportunity to repair the disconnect between the rich history of the area and the existing townscape.
