We are delighted to announce that Bethlem Museum of the Mind, extended and refurbished by our practice, has been named as finalist in the South East Region of the Civic Trust Awards 2018.

This small but unique venue is the only building dedicated to the history of mental health treatment in the UK; the “Museum of the Mind” contains the archive of the hospital which was once known as Bedlam. FBM’s competition winning design provides space for a diverse range of activities – not only specialist facilities for archivists, conservators and academics as well as visitors of all ages, but also the “Bethlem Gallery” – which offers Art Therapy and an exhibition venue for patients of the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust, combining patient care with the academic research and art.
