Bridport Place Hackney Submitted for Planning Approval

A commission we have been working on from Metropolitan Housing Trust to reappraise a site on the boundary between Islington and Hackney at the corner of Bridport Place and Wiltshire Row, will bring it back into use within a viable scheme that provides a greater number of high quality homes to meet local housing need. Our scheme, which has just been submitted for planning approval, offers 32 new homes (50% affordable) with 10% wheelchair accessible apartments in a range of sizes. Given the small site footprint (427 sqm) we maximised the number of homes on site by increasing the building height to 11 stories, rising to celebrate the corner and falling away to the south, responding to the height of Bridport House.
