Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Studio as part of the London Festival of Architecture. Exhibitions and displays focussed on the festival theme of “Boundaries”.  In this audio visual installation members of the FBMArchitects team made videos of the boundaries between their homes and the world beyond – the approach to our front doors. The videos were collaged together by Goncalo. The video presentation was accompanied by an audio installation in which we respond to the theme of boundaries.

“Boundaries Through Time” is a collage which explores the boundary between the working week and the weekend. Last Saturday we all stopped wherever we were at 11am and took a photo, which we sent to the Office WhatsApp Group. We displayed these images along with Postcards from the Future – our expectations of where we will be at 11am tomorrow.

“Not In My Back Yard” plotted our routes to work showing how our paths cross at different points in the city as we traverse the boundary between home and work; the installation also incorporates historic images showing how the cityscape has changed over time – those places and people that are no longer in our back yards.

This audio visual installation which was displayed in our conference room – the most public part of our office, places videos we have recorded of the thresholds of public and cultural buildings we have visited in the past month, alongside an audio installation in which we respond to the theme of boundaries.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open Studio evening. We had a fantastic time exploring the theme of “Boundaries”. Please keep in touch!
