We’ve just received this pictures from Tim Crocker Photography of our scheme at Pembury Place, for Peabody, completed in 2007. The competition winning development was the first new building on the Pembury Estate for many years and occupied the site of a former construction compound, used during the Decent Homes Works to improve kitchens and bathrooms following the stock transfer of the estate to Peabody.
The building offers 30 apartments for shared ownership – the first new tenure on the estate. The sloping street façade and bold aesthetic create a dynamic quality to the new building, expressing this new era for the estate.
A deck access arrangement is located on the most overlooked, Eastern elevation, freeing up the western elevation for generous balconies. Mesh screens balance the need for privacy and security. Since the project was completed by Sandwood Construction in 2007, these have been customized by residents, with trailing plants and lighting.
