Pembury Circus shortlisted for Planning and Placemaking Awards

We are delighted that our vibrant new mixed-use development at Pembury Circus on the Pembury Estate in Hackney for Peabody and Bellway Homes is among the finalists of this year’s Planning and Placemaking Awards. The development, which replaced an under-utilised and unsafe part of the neighbourhood with 268 new homes, has been shortlisted in the Regeneration and the London Regional categories.

Pembury Circus was designed to be a peaceful place to live with an emphasis on community-building. The new buildings and landscape work together to create high quality, pleasant, safe and useful public and private spaces. It has helped our clients to fulfil their vision of creating a welcoming estate that includes new homes to rent and buy, and a comprehensive programme of support for residents and the wider community. Pembury Circus now provides a setting for a successful mixed community of all ages – offering 25 homes for older people, a nursery, a large community centre with neighbourhood management offices, shops, a new public square and play area in a development that is legible, egalitarian and a joy to inhabit.

The awards’ winners will be announced on the 29th of June at Savoy Place.
