Proposals for a new 18,000sqm mixed use building between Tower Bridge Road and Newhams Row in Bermondsey for First Base.
The mixed use development provides a hotel, commercial and retail space and new apartments arranged in five buildings set around a central courtyard, with a new public right of way through the scheme to re-connect the site to the surrounding townscape. The five volumes are arranged so as to provide an acoustic buffer to the busy Tower Bridge Road, and are sculpted so as to maximise natural light into the new residential units, most of which are contained within a new 18 storey tower.
